Beyond the home well

Commercial and municipal water wells

High-capacity wells and complete water systems for public systems, developments, farms, and businesses across the Texas Hill Country, from the same local crew, since 1985.

Most of what we do is residential, but not all of it. For four decades, TR Drilling & Service has drilled and serviced higher-capacity wells and complete water systems for clients well beyond the single-family home: public and municipal water systems, subdivisions and developments, working farms and ranches, and commercial properties across the Texas Hill Country. It is the same local crew and the same honest approach, scaled up for bigger demand and tighter requirements.

Who we serve

Water for more than a single home

Public & municipal water systems

Public-supply wells for small towns, water-supply corporations, and utilities, built and maintained to keep a community in water. As an authorized NightOwl installer, we can add utility-grade remote monitoring and automated regulatory reporting, designed for small systems and priced for them.

Subdivisions & developments

Community and shared wells for neighborhoods, developments, and RV or mobile-home parks, sized for multiple connections and paired with the pump, pressure, and storage to match the load.

Agricultural & irrigation

High-capacity wells for ranches, farms, and vineyards, sized for livestock, crop irrigation, and landscape systems. We match the well and the pump to the flow your operation actually needs.

Commercial property wells

Reliable water for businesses, schools, churches, campgrounds, and wineries, where municipal water is not available or not worth the cost. We build the whole system and stand behind it.

Bigger wells, more rules

We handle the reporting and can help with permitting

Commercial, municipal, irrigation, and other high-use wells are usually non-exempt under Texas groundwater rules. That means they need an operating permit from the local groundwater conservation district, and typically metering and annual production reporting. The thresholds and rules vary from one district to the next.

We know each district across the Hill Country, and we handle the production reporting and can help you through the permitting, so a bigger project does not turn into a paperwork project. See permit or registration and find your groundwater district.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Does TR Drilling drill commercial and municipal wells?

Yes. Along with residential wells, we drill and service higher-capacity wells for public and municipal water systems, subdivisions and developments, farms and ranches, and commercial properties across the Texas Hill Country. We have done this work since 1985 with the same licensed crew.

Do you handle the permitting for a commercial or high-capacity well?

Yes, and it matters more for these wells. Commercial, municipal, irrigation, and other high-use wells are usually non-exempt, which means they need an operating permit from the local groundwater conservation district, along with metering and annual production reporting. We know each district's rules across the Hill Country and handle that permitting and reporting for you.

Can you set up monitoring and compliance reporting for a small water system?

Yes. As an authorized NightOwl installer, we add utility-grade remote monitoring with automated regulatory reporting, designed for small water systems and priced for them. You get live monitoring of water levels, pressure, and pumps, instant alerts, fewer truck rolls, and lower compliance risk.

What kinds of agricultural and irrigation wells do you drill?

High-capacity wells for ranches, farms, and vineyards, sized for livestock, crop irrigation, and landscape systems. We match the well and pump to the flow your operation actually needs, and handle the district permitting that larger-volume wells require.

Do you serve subdivisions, RV parks, and commercial properties?

Yes. We drill and maintain community and shared wells for subdivisions, developments, RV and mobile-home parks, and commercial sites such as schools, churches, campgrounds, and wineries, including the pump, pressure, and storage systems that serve multiple connections.
